The Diani/Funzi coastal area means temperatures and humidity are high year-round.
Ideal Time (Calm Seas): Weekday mornings (Tuesday through Thursday) are best for smoother boat transfers and less crowded sandbanks.
Weather Considerations: The long rains typically fall from April to June, which can cause rougher seas and higher tides. The tour is comfortable year-round, but booking a morning slot (8 AM – 12 PM) avoids the most intense afternoon heat (1 PM – 4 PM).

Health and Safety

Sun Protection: Due to the equatorial sun, wear a hat or cap and use sunscreen (SPF 30+) even on cloudy days, as much of the day is spent on the water or exposed to the sun.
Hydration: Carry bottled water. The humidity and heat, combined with swimming, can be taxing, especially during the transfer and village walk.
Security: Funzi Island is generally very safe. However, as in any busy tourist area, be discreet with valuable jewelry, cameras, and phones during transfers and in market areas. Keep your day bag zipped and secure.
