Safari Itinerary

Day 1 Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park
Dawn Departure & Park Entry (06:00 hrs)
Pick up from your Mombasa hotel as dawn breaks at 06:00 hrs. Drive inland along the scenic Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, covering 140km to enter Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma Gate. Brief stopover at the gate for refreshments and a comfort break before commencing your adventure.
Morning Game Drive & Lunch
Game viewing begins immediately upon entry. Look out for the famous red elephants of Tsavo (colored by the red volcanic soil), lion, buffalo, cheetah, baboons, gerenuk, a variety of antelopes, hundreds of bird species, and plenty of other plains game. Proceed to your accommodation for lunch with panoramic views over the park.

Afternoon Game Tracking & Waterhole Viewing

Day 2 Tsavo East to Ziwani Private Sanctuary
Early Morning Game Drive & Transfer
Begin with an early morning game drive in Tsavo East to catch predators and wildlife at their most active. Return for a full breakfast before departing for Tsavo West National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at Ziwani Camp.
Afternoon: Ziwani Private Sanctuary Experience
After lunch, check in at the exclusive Ziwani Private Sanctuary, located within a private conservancy. This unique setting offers intimate wildlife encounters away from the crowds. Activities include specialized bird-watching (over 400 species recorded) and an evening/night game drive to spot nocturnal wildlife such as bush babies, genets, civets, and potentially leopards and hyenas.

Day 3 Full Day in Tsavo West National Park
Morning Transfer & Game Viewing
After breakfast, proceed to Tsavo West National Park, renowned for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, rocky outcrops, and diverse habitats. Game viewing en-route as you drive to your accommodation for lunch. The setting offers spectacular views of the surrounding wilderness.
Afternoon: Rhino Sanctuary Visit & Game Spotting
Afternoon game drive with a special visit to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a 70 sq km fenced area protecting the critically endangered Black Rhino. This is one of Kenya's most successful rhino conservation projects. Continue game spotting throughout the park, looking for lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, elephant, waterbuck, topi, eland, gazelle, and hundreds of bird species.

Day 4 Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park
Morning Game Drive & Mzima Springs
Early morning game drive in Tsavo West. After breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park via the famous Mzima Springs. At Mzima, visit the unique underwater observatory to view hippos, crocodiles, and tilapia fish in their natural aquatic habitat through glass panels—a truly rare wildlife viewing experience.

Arrival at Amboseli & Kilimanjaro Views
Continue to Amboseli National Park, situated right at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain at 5,895m. Check in for lunch. The park offers unparalleled views of Kilimanjaro's snow-capped peak (weather permitting).
Afternoon Game Tracking: Land of Giants
Afternoon game drive in this magnificent park, famous for its large elephant herds with impressive tusks. Look out for hippo (in the swamps), elephant, wildebeest, lion, zebra, gazelle, kudu, hartebeest, and numerous bird species including pelicans, Egyptian geese, and various raptors. Day 5 Amboseli to Saltlick Safari Lodge

Transfer to Taita Hills & Saltlick Arrival
Game drive en-route as you exit Amboseli. Drive to the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and check in at the iconic Saltlick Safari Lodge. This architectural marvel is a complex of roundavels (circular rooms) sitting on stilts over a series of waterholes. The two-storey towers, topped by peaked thatch roofs, are connected by open-air bridges, creating an African fantasy reminiscent of a medieval fortress.
Afternoon & Night: Waterhole Viewing Experience

Departure & Return to Mombasa
After breakfast, check out and begin the journey back to Mombasa. Game drive en-route as you exit the sanctuary. Drive back to your Mombasa beach hotel or the airport, arriving in the afternoon. This concludes your comprehensive 6-day Tsavo and Amboseli safari adventure, filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, unique experiences, and the majestic beauty of Kenya's wilderness.
