Safari Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi to the Mara: Air Transfer & Afternoon Game Drive
Morning (8:00 AM)
A representative will meet you at your Nairobi hotel (or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, NBO) and transfer you to **Wilson Airport (WIL)**. You'll check in for your scheduled **scenic flight** to the Masai Mara.
Late Morning (10:30 AM)
Arrive at the Mara airstrip. Your dedicated safari guide from the luxury camp will meet you. Enjoy a short **game drive en-route** to the camp, soaking in your first views of the plains. Check in and have lunch.
Afternoon (3:30 PM)
Set out for your first exhilarating **Afternoon Game Drive**. The Mara comes alive in the late afternoon. Look for big cats beginning their hunts, herds of zebra and wildebeest, and the sheer scale of the savannah.
**Focus:** Spotting members of the **Big Five** (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino) and vast herds of grazers.
Evening
Return to the camp for sundowner drinks around the fire, a gourmet dinner, and a relaxing overnight stay in your tented suite.
Day 2 Full Day of Exploration & Optional Hot Air Balloon
Sunrise (5:30 AM - Optional Activity)
**Hot Air Balloon Safari (Optional, Extra Cost):** Depart before dawn for an unforgettable flight over the Mara. Conclude with a **Champagne Bush Breakfast** upon landing. Guests not doing the balloon enjoy an early morning game drive before breakfast.
Morning & Mid-Day (8:30 AM)
After breakfast, embark on a **full-day game drive** with a packed picnic lunch. This allows you to explore deeper into the reserve without returning to the lodge.
**Seasonal Highlight:** If traveling between July and October, you'll track the **Great Migration** towards the Mara River.
Late Afternoon (Cultural Option)
Return from your full-day drive. If time permits, enjoy an **Optional Cultural Visit** to a local Maasai village (small fee paid locally) for a glimpse into their traditional life.
Evening
Enjoy dinner and share stories of your day's sightings with fellow travelers.
Day 3 Final Morning Drive and Flight Back to Nairobi
Early Morning (6:30 AM)
Enjoy a **final, short game drive** near the camp. This is the last chance to search for any wildlife you may have missed, like the elusive leopard.
Late Morning (9:30 AM)
Return to the camp for a full breakfast, followed by check-out. Your guide will transfer you to the local airstrip (a short game drive).
Mid-Day (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Board your scheduled flight back to **Wilson Airport (WIL)** in Nairobi. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for your onward international flight or dropped off at your Nairobi hotel.

Practical Tips

  1. Best Time to Visit: The dry season (June to October) is ideal for wildlife viewing, as animals gather around water sources. However, these parks are accessible year-round.
  2. Health and Safety: Ensure you have the necessary vaccinations and carry anti-malarial medication. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
  3. Packing Essentials: Comfortable safari clothing, a good camera, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
